What We Left Behind (DS9 Documentary)

What We Left Behind(DS9) offers an authentic and earnest celebration of this unique show and its legacy. It's a terrific documentary mingled with anecdotes about personal experiences, the legacy of the fandom. It offers banter with the cast, production challenges albeit a bit overlooked and fan reception couple with interviews. Its documentary structure mines for clever and insightful stories with juxtaposing multiple POV's. It's honest,articulate and potent in its objective.

Technically What We Left Behind is Terrific and earnest. The cross cut structure provides depth and hilarity. It risks being clumsy but avoids it through clever direction and skillful pacing. The remasters of the original show are dazzling and gorgeous. The sound is minimal except for the theme rearrangements that give it a sense of poignancy.

The cinematography utilises movement,pacing,lighting,focus,

,angle,POVs.Its production design is natural and ambient. The effects are non-existent but fitting for the material. Overall What We Left Behind offers an unflinching look at this memorable iteration of the franchise with fan-resonance and levity.
