Raiders is quintessential cinema. It's got well-defined protagonists, graphic violence, and the perfect antagonists in the Nazis. It's a fusion of pulpy serials and b- movie adventures with a huge scope throughout. It evokes themes of pulpy adventures, anti fascism and narcissism and human arrogance. It's casting is iconic with Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. The cast is perfect at bringing different sides of Indy out and feel lived in and accentuate Indy's arc. It's screenplay is well written with adequate tension and drama with personal and external stakes
Technically Raiders is sublime. It employs classic transitions, smash cuts, quick editing and great practical designs. Its practical design gives this film a lived in and grimey look. It's gorgeous in its cinematography with the red and pink color grading giving it a timeless feel to itself and the adventure. It's score is iconic adding in to the film's adventure tone. It's the epitome of action filmmaking with practical stunts and great editing and wide frame.
