Hot Fuzz is stylish in its spoof of action films and police procedurals. It's packed with irreverent and fun gags with deep-cut references to action films. It's a wonderful script with it being a mixture of genres such as action films, buddy films, folk horror films, etc but it never buckles under the conceit of it. It rather enhances it to be bold and unique for a different face of comedies. There's dark humor, witty and memorable characters, and dynamic relationships between Simon Pegg and Nick Frost(also for the whole cast).

Technically Hot Fuzz has sharp stones and a sharp structure with a layered setup of jokes and gags that pay off in unexpected ways. Its imagery employs framing, filters, and dramatic motion. The editing adds montages, split screens, cross cuts, and narration. Its jukebox music is obvious but it's used for meaningful situations. The rural English town prod design establishes the scale and size. The effects use stunts, gunshots, and digital work. Overall Hot Fuzz is a triumph of action comedies that delivers on just about everything.
