Deadpool and Wolverine

Deadpool and Wolverine is an overcrowded nostalgia-fest with muddled drama and prioritizing fan service over organic storytelling. It's burdened by convoluted multiverse baggage on a simplistic buddy comedy story. There are simple narrative character arcs however remain underdeveloped and underutilized. The generic plot of multiverse jargon with end-of-the-world stakes feels hollow and limp.

The comic acting performances are solid(especially Jackman and Reynolds) but pigeonholed into one-note acting performances and paper-thin archetypes with referential and crude humor. The crude humor is overblown and stretched thin rendering the humor inert. Overall Deadpool and Wolverine is a mediocre retreat of heaps.

Technically Deadpool and Wolverine is lifeless and underwhelming. Aside from one impressive sidelong take the cinematography feels lifeless and dull. Despite psychological inserts, montages, and flashbacks the editing feels bloated and incoherent with choppy action sequences. The sound adds distortions and voiceovers.

The score consists of comedic pop music with wallpaper music. Aside from clever Easter eggs, the production design feels drab and washed out artificiality. The cast is the film's selling point with household names. The effects use of gore and makeup rely too heavily on avg CGI. Overall Deadpool and Wolverine is a jumbled cash grab vying for the MCU's distorted nostalgia.
