Arrested Development's original run is one of the most influential American comedies of all time filled with groundbreaking techniques and ideas to reinvent a sitcom. It's filled with dense jokes, season-long gags with big payoffs, and influencing the single-camera style of comedy prevalent today.

The cast is pitch perfect with comic talents Jessica Walter, Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, Tony Hale , David Cross and young talent like Michael Cera elevating the show with each of their unique performances and craft.

Arrested Development refreshes the family trope in sitcom genre by investing in the intergenerational trauma of parenting and hence interpersonal horror through which the humor bleeds in. It's morally murky characters gives the sitcom genre a new direction and originality which paved the way for comedy television like Veep, 30 Rock and the Office.

Arrested Development was born from the boom of reality television through which it gets the space to create more subtle and elaborate jokes with clever visual gags. It delved away from the idea of multi camera sitcoms which were limited in the ways of doing comedy and became a trailblazer with its unique approach.
